Review integrity, fraud, and spam policy
ReviewsBro is designed to collect and publish authentic product and seller experiences without allowing merchants, incentives, or sentiment to determine which eligible reviews remain visible.
Incentives and rating neutrality
Seller reviews receive no rewards, discounts, points, gifts, or other benefits. Review invitations are voluntary and a customer's decision to respond does not affect an order or service.
A merchant may offer a disclosed benefit for an eligible product review only when the benefit is available regardless of whether the rating or comments are positive or negative. ReviewsBro records the incentive status separately from the rating and includes the required incentive disclosure in an eligible Google Product Ratings feed. Merchants may not condition a benefit on sentiment, editing, publication, or removal.
Collection, ownership, and provenance
- Seller-review invitations are sent after fulfillment and reviews must be completed within 90 days of the invitation.
- Product and seller ratings use a 1-to-5 scale and are never converted from a different rating system.
- ReviewsBro records the collection method, stable review identity, merchant domain, country, original language, relevant timestamps, available transaction evidence, and incentive status.
- Only reviews collected directly through ReviewsBro may be represented as ReviewsBro-collected reviews.
- Imported or scraped reviews retain their source provenance and are excluded from Google-bound feeds by default. They are never represented as directly collected ReviewsBro reviews or submitted when doing so would duplicate or syndicate another provider's feed.
- A merchant remains responsible for establishing that it collected and owns reviews it authorizes for a merchant-direct Product Ratings feed.
Detection controls
ReviewsBro evaluates authenticated customer and post-fulfillment evidence where available, verified-purchase signals, duplicate content fingerprints, replay-resistant idempotency records, and bounded submission, payload, and media limits. Uploaded media is held in private quarantine while file signatures, declared type, actual size, image dimensions or video duration, cryptographic digest, and malware results are checked.
These signals help identify repeated submissions, forged context, impersonation, automated or primarily AI-generated content, plagiarism, conflicts of interest, harmful files, advertising, and irrelevant content. A technical signal does not cause criticism or a low rating to be classified as spam.
Product-review content controls
Product reviews must describe a first-hand experience with the product. ReviewsBro may reject, redact where appropriate, or mark content under the destination's rules when it contains spam, boilerplate or meaningless text, personal or confidential information, phone numbers, email addresses, unrelated links or promotion, unlawful or dangerous content, malware or phishing, infringement, impersonation, hate speech, sexual content, threats, personal attacks, or material unrelated to the product. Shipping, retailer-service, and political commentary belong outside a product-review feed.
Reviews remain in their original language. Each review has one stable identity and appears only once in a feed; product variants are associated through identifiers rather than duplicated review records.
Customer images and video
Customer images must be submitted or owned by the reviewer, relevant to the reviewed product, sufficiently clear to be useful, and free from unrelated promotion. Images from private locations or showing identifiable people require appropriate permission. Only approved derivatives are eligible for publication or an image-capable feed. Customer video remains available to ReviewsBro storefronts after safety review and moderation, but is not included in the current Google Product Ratings XML path.
Fair moderation
- Merchants cannot remove, suppress, or selectively publish seller reviews.
- All solicited and unsolicited seller reviews follow the same policy.
- Reviews may be removed only for a defined integrity, safety, legal, privacy, or reviewer-deletion reason—not because they are critical or low-rated.
- Reviews being investigated remain included in Google Store Ratings feeds when ReviewsBro is authorized and the applicable program requires them.
- Moderation actions retain the prior state, reason, actor, and time for audit.
- Reviewers may request deletion of their own reviews at any time.
Google Product Ratings feed integrity
When a merchant enables an eligible Google Product Ratings feed, ReviewsBro's policy is to provide the merchant's complete eligible product-review set, including low ratings, at least monthly and preferably through a daily prepared artifact. Reviews are not removed because they are old. Required spam, incentive, collection, purchase, language, product-identifier, product URL, review URL, and customer-image facts are carried without inferring evidence that ReviewsBro does not possess.
GTIN is preferred; brand and MPN, SKU, and canonical product URLs are retained as available and must align with the merchant's product data. Product and review URLs must be functional, and active product pages should visibly display the associated reviews. A generated or downloaded feed is not represented as accepted by Google until Google reports that status.
Reporting and appeals
Report suspected manipulation, spam, conflicts, image concerns, a moderation appeal, or a deletion request through BroFam's secure contact form. Include the merchant domain, public review identifier, reason, and supporting context without passwords, access tokens, payment information, or unrelated customer data. ReviewsBro evaluates the report under this policy; a merchant's disagreement with a rating is not a removal reason.
Program status
ReviewsBro is preparing merchant-direct Google Product Ratings feeds and is applying separately for Google Product Ratings and Store Ratings partnerships. ReviewsBro is not currently a Google-supported review aggregator or Store Ratings partner, and compliance with this policy does not guarantee that Google will accept or display any review or rating. See our Product Ratings program information.
Changes
Material changes receive a new version and effective date. We do not retroactively broaden removal reasons to suppress lawful criticism.
